This fan palm is similar in appearance to T. fortunei, but has shorter, stiffer leaves that stand more erect and aren't as deeply divided. It may be slightly more cold-hardy than T. fortunei. Some consider T. wagnerianus to simply be a variety of T. fortunei. Plant Trachycarpus palms in well-drained situations, preferably with protection from strong winds.
